DESCRIPTION:  \nLet freedom ring!  The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta. \nEach year on July 4th\, live music and fireworks take place at Cauble Park.  Live music will start at 5:30 p.m.  Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. (subject to change depending on weather). \nIf you do not have a parking pass or if the parking is full\, you will need to park downtown and walk down to the park.  Shuttles will not be running for this event.  Handicap parking will be available at McCall Primary School and there will be a shuttle provided for handicap attendees.  Handicap shuttles begin at noon.

The community had a great time celebrating this important day in American history. This concert is held in observance of June 19\, 1865\, when the last African American slaves held in Confederate states were finally freed by the Union army. \nJoin us on Saturday\, June 17\, 2023 for next year’s event. DESCRIPTION:Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival is an annual tradition that Acworth\, Kennesaw and Marietta residents enjoy each Mother’s Day Weekend in Logan Farm Park. The North Cobb Rotary Club organizes and holds this charity fundraiser event. All net proceeds go to charities in our community. Friday night features a concert under the stars. Great weather\, great music\, great BBQ and Cold Beer. Smoke on the Lake brings 20+ Amateur Backyard BBQ Teams that work very hard to cook Wings on Friday night and Pork on Saturday for a hungry crowd.  \nNorth Cobb Rotary partners with the City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association (ABA) to insure the success of this event. City Staff including Mayor Tommy Allegood\, City Manager James Albright and Police Chief Wayne Dennard lead their staffs in the support of Smoke on the Lake and North Cobb Rotary is grateful for their support. \n\n\n\n\n\n5:00 PM – 10:00 PM FRIDAY\n\n\n\n\n\nThe LORD OF THE WINGS contest Friday night pits the BBQ teams against each other so the attendees’ judge “who’s got the best wings”! Hungry patrons purchase “Taster Tickets from friendly North Cobb Rotarians and then test the cook teams wings on Friday night and vote for the best wings with their “Gold” tickets. There are other food options provided by 1885 Grill and Williamson Brothers BBQ and other food vendors. \nMidlife Crisis ATL will perform ’60s\, ’70s and ’80s hits from 8pm to 10pm Friday night. There will be two beer tents sponsored by Elder Law and Bay Equity featuring Acworth’s own Red Top Brewhouse beer (served cold). You can buy a 6-seat table for $100 on this website or listen to the free concert on a blanket on the lawn. \n\n\n\n\n\n11:00 AM – 4:00 PM SATURDAY\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday features our PEOPLES’ CHOICE PORK contest. Cook teams compete with their pulled pork and patrons vote with their gold tickets for their favorite pork. The cook teams also compete on chicken and ribs with judges from the Georgia Barbeque Association (GBA). Patrons purchase Taster Tickets from friendly North Cobb Rotarians.

DESCRIPTION:The Special Olympics Polar Plunge\, hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run For Georgia\, will take place at Acworth Beach at Acworth Beach on February 25\, 2023. \nThe purpose behind the Polar Plunge is to support and spread awareness for the 27\,115 Special Olympics Georgia athletes. The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics. Many states across the nation participate in this annual event through the efforts of their Law Enforcement Torch Run program. The Polar Plunge is an official Law Enforcement Torch Run event. \nAnyone with a little guts and a warm heart wanting to support the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia is welcome to participate! Participants collect pledges from friends and family in exchange for the opportunity to jump into icy waters in the middle of winter. All proceeds collected by “plungers” will benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nConcert on the Green: A Juneteenth Celebration will take place at Logan Farm Park on Saturday\, June 18\, 2022. The event opens at 5:00 p.m. with live music taking place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This concert is a celebration in observance of June 19\, 1865\, when the last African American slaves held in Confederate states were finally freed by the Union army. The City of Acworth will hold a free concert from the Total Package Band. \nThe City of Acworth invites the whole community to bring blankets and folding chairs and join this celebration of freedom and respect for all cultures. \nFor vendor or sponsorship information\, please contact Taylor Aubrey\, taubrey@acworth.org.

DESCRIPTION:The Acworth Dragon Boat Festival will take place on Saturday\, May 14\, 2022 at Dallas Landing supporting Loving Arms Cancer Outreach! Dragon Boating is an up-and-coming sport\, soon to be an Olympic sport.  Many communities hold dragon boat races as a different means to benefit charitable organizations within the community. \nThese festivals are fun-filled days for all ages featuring corporate and community teams racing in 46-foot long ornamental dragon boats.  Race day combines various cultural activities with food and fun for spectators and participants.  People love the thrill\, the teamwork\, the adrenaline\, and positive interaction in the boat.  People who never thought of themselves as athletes can thrive in a dragon boat and discover a challenging alternative to other sports\, which is why this is currently the fastest-growing water sport! \nTo learn more about this sport or to get involved\, please visit www.acworthdragonboatfest.com

DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThe North Cobb Rotary Club\, City of Acworth\, and the Georgia Barbecue Association partner each year to bring you the Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival presented by Superior Plumbing.  This event will be held at Logan Farm Park on Friday\, May 6\, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday\, May 7\, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  All proceeds from this event are distributed amongst several local charities\, so everyone come out and help make a difference in your community! \nThis two-day event features a Friday night concert under the stars and a BBQ competition on Saturday!  Teams from all over the Southeast compete in professional and amateur divisions to see who will take home the title.  For a small fee\, you can taste your way through some of the best BBQ in the Southeast! \nParking will not be available at the park so please park downtown. \nFor more information on this event\, please visit www.smokeonthelake.org.
