DESCRIPTION:  \nLet freedom ring!  The City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association are proud to present one of the largest fireworks extravaganzas in Metro Atlanta. \nEach year on July 4th\, live music and fireworks take place at Cauble Park.  Live music will start at 5:30 p.m.  Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. (subject to change depending on weather). \nIf you do not have a parking pass or if the parking is full\, you will need to park downtown and walk down to the park.  Shuttles will not be running for this event.  Handicap parking will be available at McCall Primary School and there will be a shuttle provided for handicap attendees.  Handicap shuttles begin at noon.

The North Cobb Rotary Club organizes and holds this charity fundraiser event. All net proceeds go to charities in our community. Friday night features a concert under the stars. Great weather\, great music\, great BBQ and Cold Beer. Smoke on the Lake brings 20+ Amateur Backyard BBQ Teams that work very hard to cook Wings on Friday night and Pork on Saturday for a hungry crowd.  \nNorth Cobb Rotary partners with the City of Acworth and the Acworth Business Association (ABA) to insure the success of this event. City Staff including Mayor Tommy Allegood\, City Manager James Albright and Police Chief Wayne Dennard lead their staffs in the support of Smoke on the Lake and North Cobb Rotary is grateful for their support. \n\n\n\n\n\n5:00 PM – 10:00 PM FRIDAY\n\n\n\n\n\nThe LORD OF THE WINGS contest Friday night pits the BBQ teams against each other so the attendees’ judge “who’s got the best wings”! Hungry patrons purchase “Taster Tickets from friendly North Cobb Rotarians and then test the cook teams wings on Friday night and vote for the best wings with their “Gold” tickets. There are other food options provided by 1885 Grill and Williamson Brothers BBQ and other food vendors. \nMidlife Crisis ATL will perform ’60s\, ’70s and ’80s hits from 8pm to 10pm Friday night. There will be two beer tents sponsored by Elder Law and Bay Equity featuring Acworth’s own Red Top Brewhouse beer (served cold). You can buy a 6-seat table for $100 on this website or listen to the free concert on a blanket on the lawn. \n\n\n\n\n\n11:00 AM – 4:00 PM SATURDAY\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday features our PEOPLES’ CHOICE PORK contest. Cook teams compete with their pulled pork and patrons vote with their gold tickets for their favorite pork. The cook teams also compete on chicken and ribs with judges from the Georgia Barbeque Association (GBA). Patrons purchase Taster Tickets from friendly North Cobb Rotarians.

DESCRIPTION:The Special Olympics Polar Plunge\, hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run For Georgia\, will take place at Acworth Beach at Acworth Beach on February 25\, 2023. \nThe purpose behind the Polar Plunge is to support and spread awareness for the 27\,115 Special Olympics Georgia athletes. The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics. Many states across the nation participate in this annual event through the efforts of their Law Enforcement Torch Run program. The Polar Plunge is an official Law Enforcement Torch Run event. \nAnyone with a little guts and a warm heart wanting to support the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia is welcome to participate! Participants collect pledges from friends and family in exchange for the opportunity to jump into icy waters in the middle of winter. All proceeds collected by “plungers” will benefit the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia.
